Question Anyone get the reference?

"To read.... makes our speaking English good."

Here's a hint, it's from a TV show.

You got it. It's from Buffy. The first season was definitely the best imho. It steadily got worse and worse with each season. It'd be cool if they started the series up again with a new slayer. With Buffy having died...it'd be sad, but could be really good fodder for Watcher angst (gotta have Giles in it, or at least make guest appearances). It could be like Doctor Who with new actresses becoming the next slayer every few years. We should start a petition.

They tried that with new slayers - ie Kendra and Faith, but Buffy was the fan favorite. I was a Buffy Fangirl (Angel and Spike - Hells YEAH!), but i think the show definitely got better the longer it was on - until it went to UPN, then things got crappy and weird (for Buffyverse, at least).

Love the season when Dawn comes and they fight Glory!

Buffy was the fan fav, but I think that was part of the problem. They introduced Kendra and Faith (Faith was pretty cool) but Buffy was still on the show (and was the original that everyone fell in love with). If they did it like Doctor Who, where one leaves and a new one comes, then it might be better.

Of course, just like Doctor Who, there will always be fan favorites like Tom Baker (everyone's favorite), and the next actor is gonna have a hard time filling their shoes, but eventually new favs will appear. Like I really like/liked David Tennet, he's probably my second or third favorite doctor.

Oh well, it's probably just a pipe dream anyway. But here's hoping for a new Bufy.

I thought Buffy went downhill after season 3. No offense to the Initiative, but it started sucking. I mean, she fights the Mayor, who has become a true demon, and wins, only to get her ass kicked by a flesh golem? Seriously?

I seriously liked Buffy in the first season. Less so as time wore on, and definitely was not impressed after the third season. I liked Angel initially as well, but it went downhill even faster. Both shows had a wonderful cast.
